ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Lead Knowledge Consultant within BCG's Corporate, Commercial, and Investment Banking division, you will be part of a dynamic global team dedicated to delivering exceptional value to clients through specialized industry knowledge and established intellectual assets, including products, tools, data, workshops, frameworks, surveys, and domain-specific expertise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your contributions will be vital in shaping client engagements and proposals by providing relevant analyses and insights, thereby enabling case teams to create significant impact for clients.

While engaging in client projects, you may be required to travel to client locations during staffing assignments to fully grasp client needs and to design and develop tailored solutions. You will also play a crucial role in supporting commercialization initiatives for your sector, collaborating closely with business leaders to enhance proposals, client workshops, and marketing materials.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT
In your capacity as a Lead Knowledge Consultant, you will assist in the creation of intellectual property assets for the organization and contribute to commercialization strategies for the Corporate, Commercial, and Investment Banking sector, working alongside business leaders to support marketing efforts, conferences, and publications.

SECTOR FOCUS
The Corporate, Commercial, and Investment Banking sector serves prominent banking institutions across various regions, concentrating on Business-to-Business banking segments that range from Middle Market to Multinational Large Corporates.

PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
The scope of products includes traditional Corporate Banking offerings such as credit and asset-based lending, transaction banking, trade finance, foreign exchange, derivatives, as well as Investment Banking and Capital Markets products like Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, sales, and trading.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A solid foundation in statistics, enabling you to comprehend and apply various statistical methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.
  • Extensive knowledge of the banking sector, particularly within Commercial, Corporate, and Investment Banking.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with case/project teams and clients confidently.
  • A collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively in diverse team settings, often in virtual environments, and adept in agile methodologies.
  • A flexible and inquisitive approach, open to new ideas and capable of proposing innovative solutions.
  • The ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity with ease.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of consulting experience in the banking sector, preferably within Commercial, Corporate, and Investment Banking; candidates with consulting backgrounds are preferred.
  • Alternatively, at least 3 years of industry experience with a strong emphasis on statistical analysis and data science within the banking sector, ideally in Commercial, Corporate, and Investment Banking; 4-6 years of industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in both German and English.
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

As a Lead Knowledge Consultant, you will work alongside global topic leaders and colleagues across BCG to leverage expertise and capabilities for the benefit of our internal and external clients. Our team comprises a diverse array of knowledge professionals, allowing us to pursue exciting and innovative knowledge careers.

ADDITIONAL CONTEXT
The Knowledge Team is composed of functional and/or industry experts who utilize deep domain knowledge to provide insights for case teams and clients. Members of the Knowledge Team are affiliated with BCG Practice Areas, engaged in the strategic agenda, and involved in building and deploying cutting-edge intellectual property data tools/assets to deliver valuable insights.

Knowledge Team members are assigned to cases and collaborate to co-create insights with case teams and clients through expert perspectives on industry trends, delivery of proprietary data or tools in specific functions, and comprehensive research and analysis of market information. They also support business development and proposals and help organize and codify the knowledge that enables BCG to deliver exceptional business value.
