Position Overview:
The role entails overseeing procurement functions and initiatives at a regional scale within Germany's expenditure framework.
- Collaborate with Category Management to devise and execute purchasing strategies for the rail transport sub-category.
- Ensure timely fulfillment of all plant requirements with optimal solutions.
- Engage closely with internal stakeholders across various sites to facilitate effective strategic procurement and maintain business continuity.
Main Responsibilities:
- Procurement of rail transport services for diverse goods originating from German facilities, encompassing strategy formulation, negotiation processes, approval reporting, contract finalization, user training, and ongoing enhancements.
- Assist fellow buyers managing other logistics for deliveries to Germany or transiting through Germany from other nations.
- Act as the primary account manager for DB Cargo.
- Contribute to the creation of innovative solutions, both technical and commercial.
- Support cross-functional tasks within the team.
Candidate Profile:
- Possess a Master's degree in Engineering, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management.
- Fluent in both German and English; proficiency in additional European languages is advantageous.
- Demonstrated success in Procurement with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a comfort level in handling numerical data.
- Possess substantial technical knowledge of contracts and relevant systems, alongside project management and negotiation expertise.
- Combine a robust personality and leadership qualities with effective communication skills, demonstrating a keen interest in innovative industry trends and market analysis.
- Results-driven and customer-focused, capable of thriving under deadline pressure and adept at managing change.
