Your RoleWe are in search of a highly proficient and seasoned Senior 3GPP Architect with a strong focus on protocol customization to join our innovative team. In this pivotal position, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and enhancement of telecommunications systems and protocols in alignment with the latest 3GPP standards. Your main duty will involve tailoring protocol specifications to fulfill the unique requirements of Rivada Space Networks.
Your responsibilities will include:- Leading the architectural design of telecommunications systems adhering to 3GPP standards, ensuring compliance and interoperability.
- Customizing and enhancing existing protocol specifications to meet specific project demands, integrating new features and functionalities.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including software developers, system architects, and product managers, to define and execute protocol customization needs.
- Conducting comprehensive analyses and evaluations of protocol performance, identifying opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
- Keeping abreast of the latest developments in 3GPP standards and telecommunications technologies, incorporating relevant advancements into our projects and solutions.
- Driving innovation and contributing to the creation of new protocols, algorithms, and techniques to improve the performance and capabilities of our telecommunications systems.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in telecommunications, particularly with 3GPP standards and protocols, including:
- Physical and MAC layer procedures.
- Channel structure: mapping of physical, transport, and logical channels.
- Signaling procedures: Random access, RRC connection setup, signaling radio bearers, system information block, master information block.
- Downlink and uplink transmission schemes.
- Registration management and access control.
- UE Identities: IMSI, IMEI, SUPI / SUCI, TMSI, RNTI.
- Demonstrated expertise in protocol customization, with hands-on experience in modifying and extending protocol specifications.
- Strong grasp of wireless communication principles, including radio access networks (RAN), core network (CN), and protocols such as LTE, NR, and 5G.
- Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) concepts.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and scripting languages like Python for protocol customization and implementation.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of troubleshooting complex issues and optimizing protocol performance.
- Strong communication skills and proven leadership experience.
- Experience with both waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Strong vendor and supplier management skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English.

About Rivada Space NetworksRivada Space Networks is at the forefront of deploying the first true "OuterNETTM": a global low-latency point-to-point connectivity network of LEO satellites. By utilizing laser connections between our satellites, we aim to provide resellers and B2B clients with the capability to securely connect any two points on the globe with low latency and high bandwidth.
