The Solutions Consultant Manager role represents a modern approach to the traditional Sales Engineer Manager position, focusing on how we can effectively lead teams to support our clients in comprehending their environments, offering solution guidance, and ensuring they realize the value of their investment with Palo Alto Networks.

As the Solutions Consultant Manager, you will serve as the technical authority for the Solutions Consulting team dedicated to Strategic Automotive and Manufacturing clients. Collaborating closely with the District Sales Manager, you and your team will cultivate relationships with customers, aiming to assist them in identifying and thwarting advanced cyber threats and breaches. Your expertise will guide clients on the optimal applications to deploy from our platform, ensuring your team remains at the forefront of emerging cyber threats and prevention strategies.

In your capacity as the technical leader for your designated territory, you will mentor and develop your team to create innovative technical solutions that safeguard critical business objectives and maximize the value of their investment with Palo Alto Networks. You will advocate for our leadership in on-premises, cloud, and security operations services, positioning Palo Alto Networks as the preferred cybersecurity partner for your clients. Additionally, you will foster talent within your team and provide insightful feedback to the product management team regarding new feature requests and product enhancements based on insights gained from customer interactions.

Your Impact
  • Recruit and onboard new Solutions Consultants in your territory, ensuring the acquisition of top industry talent.
  • Oversee training, mentoring, and performance reviews for your team, keeping them engaged and successful in their professional journeys.
  • Assist field Solutions Consultant teams in navigating complex evaluations and challenging customer scenarios.
  • Lead and coach your team on effective technical validation efforts based on best practices to secure technical wins in assigned opportunities.
  • Define, create, and monitor personalized development plans for your team members.
  • Collaborate closely with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialist teams to ensure successful customer implementation and adoption of solutions.
  • Provide effective technical leadership during customer interactions, sharing security trends and best practices employed by other clients to enhance the selling process.
  • Drive Palo Alto Networks Platformization initiatives within your accounts.
  • Work in conjunction with the Domain Consultant Manager to optimize resource utilization and align necessary resources with your projects.
  • Act as an escalation point for collaboration with pre-sales and post-sales teams to address any arising issues.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers to solidify reference accounts and assist account teams in developing strategies to drive additional business.
  • Present as an expert in your field to customers at all levels, from technicians to CIOs.
  • Discuss competitor products in the market and position ours as the superior alternative.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Technical Marketing, and R&D to establish requirements and product features for our large customers, providing valuable feedback from customer interactions.
  • Be prepared for 30-50% travel within the region.
Your Experience
  • Proven experience as a pre-sales System Engineer Manager or in a similar role, involving technical strategic engagements with large clients.
  • Industry knowledge of security product market trends and a directional awareness of our roadmap and technology development efforts; familiarity with competitor offerings is advantageous.
  • Experience partnering with Customer Support functions to ensure successful implementation and adoption of sold solutions.
  • Demonstrated success as a people manager for experienced professionals.
  • Exceptional communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.
  • Quota-driven mindset focused on delivering the best solutions for clients by acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Proficiency in business-level German and English.
