Research Project Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS) is a prestigious private, non-profit research organization dedicated to advancing knowledge in the natural, mathematical, and computer sciences. We are currently seeking a Project and Communications Manager to enhance our Scientific Databases and Website group (SDBV).
Role Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will engage in a variety of tasks, including:
- Collaborating closely with the program director and coordinators of multiple research consortia.
- Organizing and facilitating regular leadership meetings, annual network gatherings, and retreats for scientists.
- Managing communication tasks within and beyond the network, including reports, articles, and digital content.
- Producing engaging short films to showcase the network's initiatives.
- Implementing science communication projects aimed at promoting young talent in schools.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in Biology, Medicine, Computer Science, Science Communication, or a related discipline.
- Experience in research and expertise in project management or science communication.
- Some background in event management is preferred.
- Fluency in both German and English.
- A passion for working in a multidisciplinary environment, complemented by strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and planning abilities, along with flexibility and a keen interest in scientific research.
- A willingness to travel within Germany.
