Project and Communications Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS) is a distinguished private, non-profit research organization established to advance fundamental research in various scientific domains. HITS is currently seeking a Project and Communications Manager to support the Scientific Databases and Website group (SDBV).
About the SDBV Group:
This group is engaged in a multidisciplinary research initiative funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, focusing on cancer research and prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the program director and coordinators of multiple research consortia.
- Organize and facilitate regular leadership meetings, annual gatherings, and retreats for scientists.
- Undertake communication tasks, including creating reports, articles, and managing social media presence.
- Produce short films to promote the network's activities.
- Engage in science communication initiatives aimed at inspiring young talents through educational projects.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Biology, Medicine, Computer Science, Science Communication, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in research, project management, and/or science communication.
- Experience in event management is advantageous.
- Proficiency in both German and English is essential.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, along with a keen interest in scientific research.
- Willingness to travel within Germany as required.
