Project and Communications Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS) is a prestigious private, non-profit research organization dedicated to advancing knowledge in the natural, mathematical, and computer sciences. We are currently seeking a Project and Communications Manager to support our Scientific Databases and Website group (SDBV).
About the SDBV Group:
The SDBV group is integral to a multidisciplinary research network funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, focusing on cancer research. This initiative aims to explore the development of liver cancer from pre-existing conditions, with the goal of identifying biomarkers for early diagnosis and prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the program director and coordinators of various research consortia.
- Organize and facilitate leadership team meetings, annual network gatherings, and retreats for scientists.
- Engage in communication tasks within and beyond the network, including the creation of reports, articles, and digital content.
- Produce short films to promote the network's objectives.
- Implement science communication initiatives targeting schools to inspire young talent.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Biology, Medicine, Computer Science, Science Communication, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in research, project management, and/or science communication.
- Experience in event management is an advantage.
- Proficiency in both German and English is essential.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, along with a flexible approach to work.
- Willingness to travel within Germany.
