Research Fellowship Programme Coordinator

Position Overview


As a Research Fellowship Programme Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the ARISE2 fellowship initiative under the guidance of the Fellowship Programmes Lead and the ARISE2 Programme Director. This role involves collaborating closely with the ARISE2 Scientific Director and ensuring the smooth operation of the programme.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the selection processes and organize relevant meetings for the fellowship programme.
  • Maintain effective communication with ARISE Directors, the ARISE Executive and Advisory Committee, and other stakeholders, including fellows, EMBL group leaders, and partner organizations.
  • Organize and document meetings, prepare programme-related materials such as presentations, and maintain accurate records while gathering feedback.
  • Coordinate with RICapacity, the programme's training and partner relations implementer, to assist with logistics for on-site courses and webinars.
  • Develop and manage the ARISE2 programme website to ensure up-to-date information is available.
  • Support ARISE2 fellows and their supervisors in all aspects related to the programme, including secondments, training, and progress monitoring.
  • Promote the programme at various events and meetings to enhance visibility.
  • Prepare reports for the European Commission in accordance with the ARISE2 grant agreement.
  • Contribute to additional postdoctoral programme activities as required.


Qualifications


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Ph.D. in a STEM field and experience in science management, along with a solid understanding of operational processes and strategic development.
  • A comprehensive understanding of research infrastructures in life sciences to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • The ability to work independently and proactively across various functions in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong service orientation, coupled with problem-solving experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking abilities.


Preferred Qualifications


Additional desirable qualifications include:

  • Experience in technology development or within a research infrastructure context.
  • Further qualifications in scientific, grant, or project management.
  • Prior experience in executing European Commission funded projects.
  • Experience in an international working environment.
  • Proficiency in budget management.
