Key Responsibilities
The On-Site Project Coordinator is accountable for executing a project at the site level and is an integral part of the Uniper project management team. This role involves leading the Uniper Site Team and overseeing suppliers directly engaged by Uniper, ensuring adherence to authorizations and legal standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Guaranteeing compliance with Uniper's site regulations and implementing preventive measures for safety
- Coordinating health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) activities on-site, particularly concerning ongoing operations
- Overseeing quality assurance initiatives at the construction site
- Managing the Uniper construction site team
- Facilitating and documenting construction site coordination meetings with suppliers
- Interdisciplinary coordination of all activities on-site regarding technical, organizational, and commercial aspects
- Proposing and reporting on site processing suggestions to project management
- Monitoring contractual agreements between clients and contractors
- Tracking deadlines, reporting any deviations, and formulating solutions to address project delays
- Conducting cost assessments, technical invoice verification, and assisting in contract negotiations
- Collaborating on the preparation and defense of claims
- Presenting construction site activities to the Uniper Steering Committee and other stakeholders as necessary
- Organizing site visits
- Conducting targeted investigations into accidents and deriving lessons from near-misses
- Managing crises on-site in the event of unforeseen incidents
- Developing, implementing, and ensuring adherence to site regulations specific to each project
- Liaising with supervisory and other relevant authorities to facilitate smooth operations on-site
- Securing necessary authorizations for activities related to the construction phase
- Addressing any defects identified during system acceptance
- Coordinating inspections and acceptances by supervisory authorities
- Ensuring compliance with construction management regulations
Candidate Profile
- Degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or related fields)
- Extensive experience in site management or superstructure management
- Background in power plant construction or the oil and gas sector is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills and familiarity with project management systems; knowledge of document management systems is a plus
- Excellent communication and assertiveness skills
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and ability to perform under pressure
- Willingness for long-term assignments at various construction sites
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in interactions with project members and suppliers
- High integrity and reliability
- Proficiency in both written and spoken German and English is essential
