Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Applications Service Manager to join our team in Munich, Germany. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of all business applications within our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of all business applications, custom applications, and other software tools to ensure they meet the needs of the business and align with strategic objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies for application lifecycle management, including upgrades, patches, and enhancements to ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of business applications.
  • Collaborate with business application owners, department heads, and end-users to understand their requirements and priorities regarding business applications.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations, provide updates, and solicit feedback on application services.
  • Manage relationships with software vendors, service providers, and consultants involved in the delivery and support of business applications.
  • Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and licensing agreements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to assess potential vendors and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency gains within the business application environment.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of application services and support continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5 years or more extensive experience in IT service management, with a focus on business applications and enterprise software.
  • Ability to provide customer service through collaboration and partnership with both business peers and IT colleagues.
  • In-depth working knowledge of ITSM Tools and IT Asset Management.
  • Good knowledge of ITIL standards.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor/stakeholder relationship management skills, as well as prioritization skills and experience.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex situations in unknown environments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, international team environment with multiple priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English, German, or any other European language.
