PhD Position in Translational Oncology/Immunotherapy/Genetic Engineering

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our Junior Research Group "Pediatric Immuno-Oncology" at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). Our research group focuses on improving immunotherapy of solid tumors using advanced genetic engineering techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and optimize novel experimental protocols and technologies, such as prime editing
  • Design and perform complex experiments involving multiple methods, including cloning, CRISPR/Cas9, viral transduction, and next-generation sequencing
  • Develop computational approaches to design gRNA libraries and analyze large CRISPR screens
  • Collaborate with experts in the field, including the Shifrut Lab at Tel Aviv University
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in biology, bioengineering, biomedical science, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong laboratory and writing skills
  • Previous experience in coding, CRISPR/Cas technology development, and CAR T cells is a plus
