PhD Researcher in Translational Oncology

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our Junior Research Group "Pediatric Immuno-Oncology" at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). The group is led by Dr. Franziska Blaeschke and focuses on improving immunotherapy of solid tumors using advanced genetic engineering techniques.
The successful candidate will work on developing and applying cutting-edge technologies in the field of gene editing, including CRISPR/Cas9, prime editing, and base editing. The PhD researcher will design and perform complex experiments involving a large number of methods, including cloning, viral transduction, flow cytometry, and next-generation sequencing.
The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of new cancer therapies and to collaborate with international research networks. The PhD researcher will be part of the DKFZ International PhD Program and will have access to state-of-the-art equipment and resources.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and apply cutting-edge gene editing technologies

- Master's degree in biology, bioengineering, biomedical science, or a related field
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong laboratory and writing skills
- Previous experience in gene editing and/or immunotherapy is an asset
