We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team at the August-Wilhelm Scheer Institute for a thesis project in the area of Smart Quality. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge research project that focuses on the conception and creation of a key performance indicator system for evaluating the recyclability of materials.
Project OverviewThe aim of this thesis is to design and develop a material evaluation system in terms of recyclability. This project is part of a research project that analyzes and optimizes the material composition of a product with regard to its recyclability and creates a digital sustainability passport as transparent proof of the product's recyclability.
Responsibilities- Identify the parameters relevant to the recyclability of a material (theoretical chemical suitability for recycling, contaminating additives, sortability, reusability)
- Develop an evaluation scheme (quantitative key figure system)
- View and take into account the scientific state of the art in the area of material recycling
- Develop relevant parameters for the materials used in the product (research & interviews with recycling companies)
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a challenging and innovative project that contributes to the development of sustainable technologies and business models. You will be supported by our interdisciplinary and international team and will gain insights into the application-oriented research at the August-Wilhelm Scheer Institute.
