The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge research project that focuses on the conception and creation of a key performance indicator system for evaluating the recyclability of materials.
Project OverviewThe aim of this thesis is to design and develop a material evaluation system in terms of recyclability. This project is part of a research project that analyzes and optimizes the material composition of a product with regard to its recyclability and creates a digital sustainability passport as transparent proof of the product's recyclability.
Responsibilities- Identify the parameters relevant to the recyclability of a material (theoretical chemical suitability for recycling, contaminating additives, sortability, reusability)
- Develop an evaluation scheme (quantitative key figure system)
- View and take into account the scientific state of the art in the area of material recycling
- Develop relevant parameters for the materials used in the product (research & interviews with recycling companies) to validate and fill the evaluation system developed
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a challenging and innovative project that has the potential to make a significant impact in the field of Smart Quality. You will be supported by our interdisciplinary and international team and will gain insights into the application-oriented research at the August-Wilhelm Scheer Institute.
RequirementsWe are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual with a strong background in materials science, engineering, or a related field. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills and be able to work independently.
