The Role

As a member of our Sales Engineering team, you will be a crucial partner in our sales efforts. In the role of Sales Engineer for Enterprise accounts, you will play a pivotal part in the Proofpoint sales team. Following comprehensive onboarding and ongoing product training, you will become a trusted advisor to Account Managers in your region and our current and prospective clients. Acting as a technical liaison and subject matter expert, you will help deliver People-Centric solutions that defend against contemporary cyber threats.

Your responsibilities will include crafting and presenting compelling narratives that engage customers and spark their interest. This may involve onsite product demonstrations, collaborative sessions, educational lunches, threat assessments, and production evaluations, all aimed at providing solutions that you can take pride in. Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Serve as the Technical Sales Lead throughout the pre-sales process.
• Collaborate with the sales team to devise and implement targeted account penetration strategies.
• Design and advocate for complex People-Centric Security solutions that encompass the entire Proofpoint portfolio.
• Provide valuable customer insights and real-world experiences to Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering teams to ensure our solutions remain industry-leading.
• Present at or participate in industry seminars and trade shows as necessary.
• Develop expertise in Email Security, Advanced Persistent Threats, Attack Protection, Threat Response, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and the broader threat landscape.

What You Bring to the Team

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in a customer-facing role, such as Sales/Systems Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Security Engineer, or senior-level product support, ideally within the cybersecurity sector.
• Proven experience in secure messaging, data security, network security, endpoint security, NOC/SOC, or MSP-related cybersecurity.
• A track record of developing and maintaining relationships with large Enterprise clients.
• Exceptional communication skills, comfortable presenting to diverse audiences, including technical teams and executive leadership.
• Ability to work independently, adapt swiftly, and maintain a positive outlook.
• Fluency in both German and English is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with at least two of the following skill sets is advantageous:
o Enterprise email solutions such as Exchange, G-Suite, Lotus Domino, O365, or knowledge of SMTP.
o Email authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
o Advanced Persistent Threats (APT) Protection.
o IT security, vulnerability assessments, and policy enforcement.
o Data Loss Prevention (DLP), compliance, and data privacy.
o Knowledge of cloud security and shadow IT.

Additional Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science is preferred but not mandatory.
• CISSP or other relevant industry certifications are beneficial.
