Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process and execute customer sales orders in a timely manner.
  • Provide first-level support for customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
  • Enhance the overall customer experience through dedicated service.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams (M&S, Supply Chain, P&O, QM, and Finance) to deliver on Sasol's value proposition and achieve excellence in customer service.

Core Accountabilities:

  • Receive, capture, and execute sales orders, including Debit/Credit, rebates, commissions, and sample orders in SAP, ensuring compliance with Sasol's business processes and governance framework.
  • Monitor the status of open orders, review documentation, identify and resolve issues, and keep customers and relevant internal teams informed of any deviations.
  • Proactively communicate with customers regarding the status of their SAP orders (order confirmations, delivery confirmations, order requests, and delivery dates).
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries within established targets.
  • Manage consignment stock processes, including reconciliation and invoicing as applicable.
  • Issue pro forma invoices in coordination with M&S as necessary.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on payment reminders to customers in collaboration with relevant functions (M&S, Finance, SC) as applicable.
  • Oversee the management of letters of credit in cooperation with relevant functions as necessary.
  • Maintain SAP order processes through regular housekeeping activities.

Qualifications:

  • Commercial education is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar customer service environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP, MS Office, and information systems.
  • Experience in customer service or inside sales with a strong attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of chemical operations and products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus.
  • A collaborative team player with strong intercultural skills, capable of working across cultures and languages.
  • Ability to handle stress and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
