We are seeking an exceptional postdoctoral researcher to join our junior research group Secondary Metabolism of Microbial Interactions at the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology.

About the Position

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge project focused on the discovery of novel natural product-based antiinfectives. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be part of a dynamic team working on the pathobiology of human-pathogenic fungi and developing innovative solutions to combat infectious diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-resolution mass spectrometry and metabolomics experiments to identify and characterize novel natural products.
  • Analyze and interpret large datasets to understand the mechanisms of microbial interactions and communication.
  • Develop and implement novel methods for data analysis and visualization.
  • Collaborate with the research team to design and execute experiments, and to develop new research ideas.
Requirements
  • PhD in life sciences or chemistry (e.g. chemical biology, biochemistry, microbiology, bioinformatics, or a related discipline).
  • Experience in high-resolution mass spectrometry and metabolomics is highly desirable.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and data analysis expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
