Operational Director for Chemistry Start-up Hub

Job Overview:

The Operational Director for Chemistry Start-up Hub will play a crucial role in supporting and guiding venture teams with innovative ideas in the field of chemistry. This includes:

  • Providing strategic guidance to venture teams on drug design, protein assembly, and energy/catalysis applications
  • Developing tailored support programs for teams based on their needs and stages of development
  • Engaging researchers and students to enhance specific training programs for aspiring entrepreneurs along the innovation cycle
  • Managing laboratory infrastructure for startup teams
  • Leading team members in the TUM Venture Lab ChemSPACE
  • Expanding the external network with experts, investors, and companies
  • Collaborating with internal networks and programs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to support venture teams
  • Build and maintain relationships with researchers, students, and external partners
  • Manage laboratory infrastructure and resources
  • Lead and motivate team members to achieve goals
  • Contribute to the development of training programs for entrepreneurs

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (preferably in inorganic chemistry)
  • Experience in startup programs or collaboration with chemical-related startups
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Proactive and self-motivated team player
