Job Overview:
Guidehouse is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sustainability Consultant to join our Europe and Middle East (EME) public sector team within our global Energy, Sustainability and Infrastructure segment (ES&I). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in helping our clients achieve their sustainability goals, particularly in the buildings sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of energy and climate-related issues in the buildings sector, identifying opportunities for improvement and developing tailored solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement sustainable energy and climate strategies, leveraging your expertise in policy, technology, and economics.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners, providing expert advice and guidance on sustainability matters.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in energy and climate policy, technology, and market trends, applying this knowledge to inform your work and drive innovation.
- Contribute to the development of thought leadership pieces, reports, and other materials that showcase Guidehouse's expertise and thought leadership in the sustainability space.
Requirements:
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, engineering, economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in energy and/or climate analysis, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality results.
- Proven expertise in energy and climate policy, technology, and economics, with a deep understanding of the buildings sector.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in German and English languages, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with energy calculation and simulation tools, such as TRNSYS or EnergyPlus.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel or R programming.
- Knowledge of heat network analysis and policies, sector-coupling, heat pumps, EVs, and energy system integration in buildings, including hydrogen.
- Life-cycle assessment methods and tools, and deeper insights into national and international policy cycles.
