Sustainability Policy and Heat Transition Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Europe and Middle East (EME) public sector team within our global Energy, Sustainability and Infrastructure segment (ES&I). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our goal of making our society climate neutral as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- You will work closely with our clients, including governments and other stakeholders, to develop and implement innovative solutions to address the complex challenges of climate change and sustainability.
- You will lead and contribute to high-level projects, providing expert analysis and recommendations on energy and climate policy, technology, and market developments.
- You will work collaboratively with our team of experts, including engineers, scientists, and economists, to develop well-balanced and cost-effective solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
- You will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills through formal training programs and hands-on experience.
Requirements
- You have a University or University of Applied Sciences degree related to natural sciences, engineering, or political science, with a strong academic record.
- You have 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in energy and/or climate analysis, including internships.
- You are passionate about climate action and have a strong interest in decarbonizing the building and heating sector.
- You have strong analytical and conceptual skills, as well as excellent communication and networking skills.
- You are fluent in German and English, with a high degree of flexibility and willingness to travel occasionally for work.
Preferred Qualifications
- You have experience in energy calculation and simulation of buildings, R programming, or advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- You have knowledge of heat network analysis or policies, sector-coupling, heat pumps, EVs, and energy system integration buildings, including hydrogen.
- You have experience with life-cycle assessment methods and tools, or deeper insights into national and international policy cycles.
