Position SummaryThe HSSE (Health, Safety, Social, and Environmental) Manager for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and O&M (Operations & Maintenance) will oversee the execution and assessment of HSSE initiatives across ib vogt's EPC and O&M sectors. This role will lead and coordinate comprehensive HSSE management for both the overarching operations and specific projects, ensuring compliance with local and corporate regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure adherence to relevant health, safety, social, and environmental regulations, including ESG standards within ib vogt's EPC and O&M sectors.
- Design, implement, and oversee HSSE programs tailored for EPC and O&M operations.
- Supervise HSSE teams, including both ib vogt personnel and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with the EPC and O&M management team, corporate ESG department, and HSSE colleagues to apply the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) in construction and operational assets.
- Conduct site HSSE audits and inspections as necessary.
- Analyze, record, and report on HSSE performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain operational HSSE tools, templates, and plans in partnership with the Head of EPC and O&M HSSE and the management team.
- Assist in coaching and mentoring to implement HSSE programs on-site, including incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Manage emergency preparedness and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.
- Ensure HSSE training programs are effectively established and maintained.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as the escalation point for local HSSE concerns in EPC and O&M.
- Coordinate the Occupational Risk Prevention Plan with activities in photovoltaic plants during both EPC and O&M phases.
- Encourage and manage proposals for enhancements in health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Review work procedures and contracts to identify needs and enhance HSSE processes.
- Oversee preventive measures during the EPC and O&M phases to the extent feasible.
- Ensure follow-up and completion of corrective actions related to incidents and accidents.
- Support the development of globally relevant HSSE documentation and standards.
- At least 5 years of experience in Health & Safety roles within construction or O&M energy utility projects, with familiarity in markets such as Germany, France, or the Netherlands being advantageous.
- Comprehensive knowledge of international construction HSSE best practices.
- Technical background in electrical installations.
- Strong skills in teamwork, team building, and conflict resolution.
- Proven leadership and management capabilities in HSE.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with strong communication abilities; proficiency in German is a plus.
- Professional degree in Health/Safety/Environment or a relevant technical degree in energy or construction.
- NEBOSH construction safety qualification or an international general certificate in occupational health and safety.
