Team Overview

The Battery Management System Business Division (BMS) is in search of a Security and Digital Processing Principal Engineer for our Battery Management IC (BMIC) – Automotive product line. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to Renesas's expansion in the rapidly evolving electrification of the automotive sector. You will also collaborate with various product lines to ensure Renesas's sustained growth.


Your Responsibilities

As a key member of our expert team, you will be tasked with developing industry-leading products for battery management systems in both automotive and industrial sectors. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing electrical, thermal, and impedance characteristics of battery systems based on customer specifications.
  • Optimizing overall system cost, performance, and usability for our clients.
  • Driving product requirements, selecting external components, and defining system functions.
  • Designing boards and managing system function definitions.

Qualifications
  • BSEE or higher in engineering/science with a solid background in the automotive field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in System Level Physics Simulation & Power Functions.
  • Extensive experience in automotive hardware design, including knowledge of relevant standards and requirements.
  • Proficiency in modeling electrical systems using Matlab and SPICE.
  • Experience in automotive software and system development, along with mixed-signal semiconductor product development, is advantageous.
