**Role Overview:**

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Systems Engineer to support the development of groundbreaking technology for in-space manufactured infrastructure, impacting the success of space missions.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Design and develop custom Mechanical Systems & Hardware to meet the demands of space exploration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design mechanical breadboards and Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
• Produce detailed engineering drawings and coordinate production of mechanical parts
• Manufacture mechanical parts in-house using CNC milling and 3D printing
• Assemble prototypes and flight hardware, ensuring precision and quality
• Conduct testing activities from component to system level, identifying and resolving issues
• Participate in qualification campaigns and acceptance testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards
• Support customers during final integration of payloads, providing expert guidance and assistance
• Produce technical documentation and participate in reviews, ensuring clarity and accuracy

**Requirements:**

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in working with space hardware, with a focus on mechanical systems
• Experience in milling, CNC machining, and mechanical design, with a strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment, with excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Fluent in English and eligible to work in Germany

**Preferred Qualifications:**

• Experience with mechanisms for high-precision structures, such as satellite components or spacecraft systems
• Knowledge of structural analysis tools, such as finite element analysis (FEA) or computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
• Familiarity with the new space environment, including the challenges and opportunities of space exploration
