Role Overview

As a Software Security Architect, you will play a crucial role in formulating, documenting, and overseeing the implementation of security policies, best practices, and processes related to software security for the OuterNETTM. This position involves close collaboration with the Software Team and Security Architects.

Key Responsibilities

Security Policies:

  • Establish a code of conduct emphasizing security awareness and compliance for developers.
  • Define access controls to safeguard sensitive code repositories and development environments.
  • Clarify the handling of sensitive data throughout the development lifecycle, including guidelines for data encryption and protection.
  • Develop an incident response strategy detailing actions to be taken in the event of a security breach during development.

Best Practices:

  • Implement secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP) to reduce vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct regular code reviews to identify and rectify security issues early in the development process.
  • Regularly assess and update third-party dependencies to mitigate known vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure robust authentication and authorization mechanisms are in place to control access to systems and data.
  • Apply the principle of least privilege within the development environment.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation actions at various development stages through static and dynamic code analysis.
  • Integrate relevant security aspects into the DevOps pipeline to automate security testing and ensure ongoing security monitoring.
  • Provide ongoing security training for developers to keep them informed about emerging threats and best practices.
  • Ensure secure management and regular auditing of configurations for servers, databases, and other components.

Processes:

  • Incorporate threat modeling during the design phase to identify potential security risks and devise countermeasures.
  • Establish a comprehensive vulnerability management process to promptly identify, prioritize, and remediate security vulnerabilities.
  • Develop a secure release management process to guarantee that only thoroughly tested and secure code is deployed.
  • Implement continuous monitoring to detect and respond to security incidents in real-time.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits to ensure alignment with industry regulations and organizational security policies.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • Over 8 years of experience in Cyber Security, Information Security, IT security, or related areas.
  • At least 5 years of experience focused on software security.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies with a focus on security, including Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD.
  • Familiarity with programming tools and toolsets, including compatibility analysis tools and static code analysis tools.
  • Experience with source code analysis tools such as SAST, DAST, and RASP.
  • Knowledge of software assurance processes, including configuration management and security assessment testing.
  • Familiarity with widely accepted Cyber Security Frameworks, such as NIST CSF and ISO 27000+.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
