Job Purpose

In this position, you will be responsible for customer accounts within several product lines. You will provide support to the Key Account and/or Sales Manager regarding the acquisition of projects with customers and work actively at the development and maintenance of customer relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships
  • Develop proactive plans, follow-up, and record the progress of new business opportunities (NBO) with regard to sales objectives
  • Support the strategic and commercial evaluation of new projects
  • Prepare offers
  • Negotiate prices with customers
  • Negotiate project and customer-specific contractual terms
  • Participate in forecast and long-term planning
  • Support the Key Account Manager/Sales Manager with strategic direction of global customer accounts
  • Support the tracking of project and cost planning
  • Global coordination of possible customer problems
  • Review contracts in collaboration with the legal department with regard to compliance with BorgWarner guidelines
  • Monitor market dynamics, including customer and competitive developments, and forward relevant information to appropriate sales management for data merging in our market analysis

Requirements

  • Engineer (industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or business administration with strong technical understanding (at least a Bachelor's degree)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive presence and assertiveness, strong negotiation skills
  • Result-oriented and entrepreneurial thinking
  • Experience with complex products and products that require explanation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 25%)
