We're a global company with over 5,500 people in operating facilities across more than 50 countries. Our people and technical sales teams are located close to our key markets, allowing us to maintain strong customer relationships and accelerate our product innovation process.
About the RoleWe're seeking a highly skilled Customs Manager to join our Supply Chain team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring our dispersed operating units are compliant with all applicable customs and trade regulations, including AEO certification. Your expertise will help us stay ahead of the curve and lead a culture of proactive planning.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing audit requests and facilitating activities of relevant functions to address audit failures and fix root causes
- Deploying and managing a compliance framework, including a Customs Trade Handbook, to ensure import and export managers follow best practices
- Identifying and implementing opportunities to optimize costs through duty mitigation strategies, such as tariff number reviews and inward processing
- Developing productive working relationships with regulatory entities and external administrators to ensure seamless operations
- Partnering with transportation and logistics managers to ensure strategic and operational metrics are in-line with best practices
- Collaborating with sourcing and purchasing managers to implement new solutions and track supplier performance
- Ensuring customs practitioners have access to the latest regulatory, research, advisory, and best practices resources
- Managing and reviewing recordkeeping requirements for imports and exports
- Determining tariff numbers for new products and export controls, export license requirements, and sanctioned country determination
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Customs Manager with a strong background in customs regulations and procedures. Your ideal profile includes:
- Bachelor's degree in international trade, logistics, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs management or a similar role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in customs software and Microsoft Office Suite
