Student Assistant in Cellular/molecular Biology

YOUR TASKS
- preparation of samples for fluorescence imaging
- handling of cell lines or primary cells, transfections and electroporation
- implementation of cloning strategies and purification of plasmids
- biochemical essays (e.g. SDS-page, western blot)
- carry out fluorescence imaging experiments on various microscopy setups
- implementation of established image analysis workflows
- support with laboratory management tasks
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor or Master student in Molecular Biotechnology, Molecular Biosciences, Neuroscience or similar
- knowledge in the field of cellular and molecular biology
- practical experience in cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques
- fluorescence imaging and image analysis experience is a desirable
- experience with brain slides/tissue preparation is advantageous
- hands-on experience in sample preparation for fluorescence microscopy is preferred
- experience in documenting experiments on electronic lab journals
- experience with ImageJ/Fiji or Python is a preferred but not essential
- working in an independent and thorough way
- cooperative and transparent way of working in different teams
- clear and open communication skills
- flexibility and ability to work in an interdisciplinary and international team
- good knowledge of written and spoken English
