**THE POSITION**:
Our Laboratory is part of the Primary Packaging & Process Development (PPPD) Department.
The PPPD group accompanies the entire development process (NBE, NCE, ATMP) of a drug product from the early development phase through to the commercial phase. In doing so, the PPPD selects the appropriate primary packaging materials, develops the filling process and at the same time is responsible for conducting in-use stability studies to ensure product quality at the "point of use".

**Tasks & responsibilities**:
- In your new role you support Boehringer Ingelheim´s Research & Development projects as team member of Primary Packaging & Process Development
- As project team member you ensure together with your line function the planning, execution and reporting of container closure selection, packaging development and process characterization studies considering internal (e.g. timelines, budget, quality, robustness, performance, scalability) and external requirements (e.g. regulatory / legal requirements).
- Using your expertise, you develop and conduct high impact studies to evaluate primary packaging materials for Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product (ATMP), especially for virus drug products.
- Contribute to scientific technology projects with focus on innovative packaging systems and analytical methods for packaging characterization.
- You gather new approaches on scientific basis and the appropriate documentation (e.g. patents, publications).
***Requirements**:
- Master´s degree in pharmaceutical or natural science with several years of relevant professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry; Doctoral degree preferred
- Experience in packaging or device development, as well as knowledge regarding parenteral drug products e.g., for ATMP
- Expert knowledge in material and polymer science, biochemistry, pharmaceutical and / or analytical development
- Ability to identify problems and to work effectively towards innovative solutions
- Communication talent with sound skills in technical writing and -documentation in English, German is an advantage
