University Professor (W2)
of Design Methodology and Architectural Design
**Your Responsibilities**:
- The professorship "Design Methodology and Architectural Design" is expected to represent the denomination in its entire range in research and teaching.
- To analyze and reflect on architectural design in the context of central social and political as well as economic and ecological factors and future-oriented, contemporary and historical methods of design, to teach them in a conceptual-theoretical system and to convey design methods in studio designs.
- To provide theoretically grounded analysis and design skills as well as competence in dealing with design-related, conceptual as well as practical problems.
- Analysis, reflection of and participation in current discourses, especially around expanded concepts of architecture and design against the backdrop of the transformation processes to be mastered.
- To comprehensively represent design methodology and design in teaching - especially in the Bachelor's compulsory modules "Fundamentals of Design" and "Design Theory", as well as in design studios in both the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs.
- Conduct compulsory and elective courses on a continuous basis and supervise final theses in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs.

- You fulfill the legal requirements for employment (- 36 HG NRW). Information on this and further advice at service.uni-siegen.de/professur.
- The expected profile includes a completed university degree in architecture (Master or Diploma).
- You demonstrate outstanding professional achievements in practice in the sense of a work of recognized quality, as well as sound knowledge and experience in design and planning methodology.
- A special Commitment to teaching and active and constructive participation in academic self-governance is expected.
- Willingness for inter-institutional, interdisciplinary cooperation within Faculty II (i.g. Zentrum für Bildungsräume) as well as with other faculties of the University of Siegen is expected.
- Experiences in obtaining external funding and in Third Mission activities is desirable.
