**Academic research assistants (M/F/x)**
**Reference number W2451**, salary in accordance with the German TV-L salary scale1, pay grade: E13 TV-L, duration
of employment: 4 years, volume of employment: 65 % of standard working time.***
**Workplace/Department**:
The work location will initially be based at MPI-CBG in Dresden on a Saarland university contract; a physical move to
the Saarland university campus will follow at a future date.
**Job requirements and responsibilities**:
- Construction of coacervate microdroplets,
- Quantitative biophysical characterisation of coacervate microdroplets,
- Bioinformatic analysis of big data,
- Establishing methods of sorting and characterising single droplets using RNA sequencing,
- Establishing prebiotic reactions within coacervate microdroplets,
- Using analytical methods such as Mass spectrometry.
**Your academic qualifications**:
- Completed scientific university studies in chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics or physics,
- Excellent command of the English language.

The pay grade assigned to an employee depends on their professional qualifications and the number of years of service. Each pay grade is
further subdivided into levels. Entry-level employees with no previous experience will initially be assigned a level 1 rating. After one year at
level 1 of the E10 pay grade, an employee will move up to level 2. After a further two years, the employee will move to level 3, etc.
- Have interest in bioinformatics and/or analysis of big data,
- Have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills,
- Strong interest in quantitative approaches,
- Interested in answering questions in the origin of cellular life,
- Passionate about interdisciplinary research,
- Have excellent conceptual, writing and presentation skills,
- Have good technical aptitude,
- Work independently and communicate effectively within a team.
