A postdoctoral position is available in the Institute of Experimental Orthopaedics and Osteoarthritis Research at the

Medical Faculty (Homburg/Saar) of Saarland University.

Our overarching objective is to decipher the mechanisms of pNaSS-grafted poly(epsilon-caprolactone) scaffold
- guided recombinant adeno-associated viral (rAAV) vector-mediated gene transfer that safely enhance human anterior

cruciate ligament repair. We investigate new strategies to regenerate damaged ligaments to restore their original

functionality. Based on clinical needs, we are developing molecular therapies for the treatment of ligament lesions.

We employ patient samples and animal models to perform our evaluations using rAAV gene therapy vectors. The

long-term objective is to integrate approaches in gene transfer and tissue engineering to develop improved

**Job requirements and responsibilities**:
We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on an exciting project aiming at improving

ligament repair ex vivo and in vivo. The specific project involves up-to-date methods on tissue culture, molecular

biology, biochemistry, histology, and histomorphometry in the framework of a DFG funded project.

Completed university studies in Biology or Biochemistry/Molecular Biology

Applicants must have a Ph.D degree.

Strong written and verbal skills are essential
