At the Medical Faculty of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (Department of Internal Medicine I),

the DFG-funded Research Training Group RTG 2751 “Inflammatory Influences as Modulators of Early Pancre
- atic Carcinogenesis” is seeking to fill 11 positions as of 01.04.2025 for a

PhD student (m-f-d)

To be filled part-time (65%).

Remuneration will be paid up to pay group 13 TV-L, depending on the tasks assigned and fulfillment of

personal requirements.

**Project**:
We offer PhD positions within our DFG-funded Research Training Group (RTG) 2751 “InCu-PanC”, which is a

highly interdisciplinary network of clinical scientists and basic researchers in preclinical and translational pancre
- atic cancer research. The aim of the Research Training Group is to systematically decipher the influence of various

inflammatory signals on the transition from pancreatic pre-invasive precursor lesions to invasive tumors. The

Research Training Group is divided into three main areas: _in-vivo_ modeling, _in-vitro_ modeling and the identifi
- cation of potential therapeutic targets. The individual project descriptions can be found under: Projekte | GRK

2751 - InCuPANC | Universitätsmedizin Halle. We offer an interdisciplinary as well as national and international

network with a state-of-the-art spectrum of methods (single cell sequencing, multispectral imaging, tran
- scriptomic, proteomic and CRISPR-based screening methods) to enable excellent training of PhD students.

**Tasks**:

- Molecular and cellular characterization of different inflammatory triggers of early pancreatic carcinogene
- sis using a broad range of _in vitro_ and _in vivo_ techniques

- Research tasks in an interactive and highly interdisciplinary research environment with numerous modern
- in vitro_ and _in vivo_ methods
- Scientific exchange within the RTG 2751 groups at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and close

interaction/exchange with associated groups at the Universities of Heidelberg and Leipzig
- Supporting students and scientists in building a successful scientific career as part of the structured post
- graduate training program of the RTG 2751 with various workshops and seminars

**Requirements**:

- Completed scientific university degree (Diploma, Master) in life sciences
- High interest in translational cancer research
- Scientific expertise and theoretical background
- Creative and critical team spirit with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience in the research field of pancreatic diseases are welcome
- Very good English skills
