The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With more than 3,000 employees, we operate an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.

**Job description**:

- Fault diagnosis and support of the team in the maintenance of the microscopes as well as quality management
- Correspondence with the manufacturing companies as well as organization and supervision of external maintenance orders
- Co-organization and support of courses, workshops and in-house training events

**Requirements**:

- (Natural) scientific university degree with doctorate, preferably in the fields of biology, physics, engineering sciences
- In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in bioimaging, especially optical microscopy techniques, advanced image analysis, image data management and sample preparation
- Programming skills (e.g. R, Python, Java) and experience in the development and implementation of machine learning based methods desirable
- Practical experience with optical setups helpful
- High level of self-motivation, independent and reliable way of working
- Ability to work in a team, open-mindedness and willingness to communicate
- Very good written and spoken English
