The Department of Optical Nanoscopy (Prof. Dr. Stefan W. Hell) invites applications for (a)

postdoctoral position(s) for an interdisciplinary collaborative project
to start as soon as possible.

YOUR TASKS
The overall project focuses on the development of labelling and fluorescence imaging strategies to target various endogenous biological targets, in particular the translation of biochemical assays to a microscopy read out. Possible projects include the synthesis and/or development of new markers and strategies for super resolution microscopy, as well as optimization and evaluation of endogenous and exogenous live- and fixed-cell labelling approaches. This project is truly multidisciplinary and combines modern chemical biology, molecular biological approaches, biochemical techniques, and far-field super-resolution microscopy. Tailoring of the project to match the skills of the candidate(s) will also be possible. The research project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the KMU-innovativ: Photonik und Quantentechnologien.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should be highly motivated and be prepared to work within a truly multidisciplinary network. They should have earned (or expect to complete soon) a PhD in biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, biophysics, or a comparable qualification. The candidate should be highly motivated by the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research. A willingness to learn and master new challenges, confidence, an ability to work independently and within a team, a strong attention to detail, and a high level of critical thinking are all central to success. The working language of the project group is English. Previous experience with related techniques (fluorescence imaging and biochemical techniques) are desired.
