Realize your dream of doing exceptional things and join us on our mission to solve the time and cost dilemma in medical patient transportation. We at ERC are exclusively developing an eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-off and Landing Aircraft) that transports patients three times faster than an ambulance and at one-third of the cost of a helicopter. We work hard to achieve this goal - with passion, a pioneering spirit, and strong partners, our first demonstrator successfully took off in 2023. We are looking for a passionate student to join our Modelling, Simulation and Analysis team. As a working student, you will contribute to the development of our extended reality (XR) eVTOL flight simulator, and work with our simulation framework of the overall flight dynamics and selected aircraft systems. Furthermore, you will support the Flight Operations and Human Factors team with experiments to validate pilot experience. Working in our team means learning something new every day, working with many different disciplines and teams and actively contributing to shaping tomorrow’s aviation.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prototyping of hardware and software for cockpit and desktop flight simulators
- Support the integration of visual models of our prototypes in flight simulation environments, including documentation of the workflows
- Support the operation of our flight simulators
- Application of state-of-the-art Extended Reality visualization methods
- Other relevant tasks based on your profile and mutual agreement

YOUR PROFILE
you should
- Be enrolled in a Master's program in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical course of study
- Have experience with (desktop) flight simulators and general interest in aviation
- Have first experience in at least one of these programming languages: Python, C++, HTML/JavaScript
- Be hands-on, self-driven and have a structured way of working
- Be passionate and curious about electric aviation and novel aircraft concepts
- Have excellent written and spoken English language skills

Moreover, we appreciate if you
- have first experience with asset development for desktop-based flight simulation software (mods, Blender)
- have knowledge in MATLAB/Simulink
- are familiar with fundamentals of electronics
