In order to support the Chief Engineering department "Mission and Armament Systems” for European MALE RPAS (aka Eurodrone,, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

**Masterand within "Mission critical UAS system functions" (d/f/m)**:

**Title of the Thesis**:
like radars, electro-optical sensor, electronic surveillance and many other sensors. UAS functions go far beyond commanding and monitoring of the sensor and their sensor data. The sensor data needs to be processed, fused, exploited, displayed and disseminated to other assets in real-time. The complexity of UAS functions especially with respect to their interactions are constantly increasing and remain a challenge in definition of UAS systems.

The simulation of UAS function includes understanding the system with its interfaces and is a key input for development and testing activities. It helps in understanding the system better without manipulating the real system and has many advantages like saving cost, time, resources and early detection of risk factors.

**Your tasks and responsibilities**:

- Sensor Modeling validation (Python, Matlab, etc.)
- Exposure to Virtual Engineering environment for validation of mission design concept by simulation and prototyping
- Agile way of working in a multinational environment
- Support to project management through use of a collaborative documentation and project management tools (Confluence, Jira)

**Desired skills and qualifications**:

- Enrolled full-time master student (d/f/m) in the area of System Engineering / Computer Science / Sensors and Data Fusion or similar field of study
- Ideally, previous hands-on experience in or familiarity with Mission Systems or UAVs or Avionics (5-6 months)
- Advanced English skills
- Very good team player
