**Duties**:

- Provide technical guidance and direction on security for network operations and communication capabilities to the leadership and staff of a geographically dispersed command and subordinate activities.
- Develop intelligence and security programs, policies, and procedures to respond to changing and emerging information technologies, new or expanding security requirements, and to resolve a diverse range of complex network and system problems.
- Conceive, plan, conduct, and direct implementation of a full, multi-discipline, security and intelligence program for the protection and defense of the Command infostructure.
- Evaluate and provide oversight of sensitive security and intelligence programs.
- Establish program objectives and priorities, and make adjustment to ongoing programs, based on interpretation of directives and mission requirements.
- Serve as a technical authority at conference, etc., to gain cooperation or persuade to action on security and intelligence program issues.
- Advocate and coordinate security solutions with higher and lateral organizations.
- Perform the full range of technical and administrative supervisory duties, including managing work assignments and schedules, evaluating employee performance, answering technical questions, and resolving routine disciplinary issues.
- Technically and administratively supervise personnel who perform a variety of intelligence and security work in support of computer network defense and pre-deployment intelligence and security readiness of subordinate unites.

- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. Must obtain Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) with the first two years of employment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI).
- Must be able to travel (both CONUS and OCONUS) related to duties of this position 20% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13).
- Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
