The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With more than 3,000 employees, we operate an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.

We are seeking an internationally recognized scientist to advance the field of cancer survivorship research, with a special focus on children and adolescents, as well as on adult patients who survived cancer treated at a young age. This exceptional opportunity is made possible by the generous support of the Dietmar Hopp Foundation. You will create a strong program bridging the gap between clinical practice and research; ultimately facilitating advances in survivorship care and long-term outcomes. To promote research in this underexplored domain, the DKFZ has designated this critical field of research as a high-priority area. We are currently developing a pioneering cluster in survivorship research, encompassing epidemiological registry research and translational research on the long-term effects of cancer treatment in both children and adults.

This tenured position at the level of a DKFZ Division Head (German W3 score equivalent) comes with attractive core funding for personnel, consumables and investments. In addition, access to competitive intramural funding programs of the DKFZ and the Helmholtz Association will be provided.
