Bachelor’s degree.

One focus area of the Amazon Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) mission is to provide tools, resources, and environments that support safe, efficient, and healthy behaviors and encourage employees to proactively manage their health and wellbeing. To support this focus area, Amazon is seeking an experienced Safety Auditor to join the Workplace Health and Safety, Governance and Compliance Team and play a critical role in supporting Amazon’s WHS audit program.

The location is flexible throughout Europe & UK.

This job requires minimum 50% of travelling in Europe and United Kindgom; 10% of travelling globally if it is requested.

Key job responsibilities
- Deliver WHS audits as a lead auditor
- recommend the scope, team leadership and implementation of WHS Audits -internal audits (GEMS), regulatory audits and data verification audits per region and BU.
- Recommend and support a plan for internal audit execution, and partner with Sr. WHS Audit program managers to a continuous loop of feedback that will enable standards that achieve WHS excellence.
- Support implementation and execution of globally standardized programs.
- Support teams from different geographies where needed.
- Collaborate with globally approved third party WHS auditors. Follow audit budget for global audit programs.
- Participate in audits, lead audits and coach internal auditors where needed.
- Recommend new WHS strategies/programs/technology that are relevant to audit. Support the adoption of WHS strategy, and influence change across stakeholders via audits.
- Stay attuned to changing regulations and internal WHS performance to recommend changes to audit plans when required.
- Recommend adjustments to audit programs.
- Business and site performance against published requirements in WHS standards and local legal requirements.
- Perform global trending of reports to identify common issues. Work with operations WHS partners and early intervention teams to recommend changes that address deficiencies.
- Manage incoming project requests and track completion.
- Master’s Degree safety/industrial/quality engineering, safety or other science or engineering discipline from an accredited university.
- Have or working towards CSP, CIH, NEBOSH, or CHMM certification.
- Certified lead auditor for ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001.
- Fluent in speaking and writing in at least one other language (Spanish, French, German, Italian, or Polish preferred).
