In the Faculty IV: School of Science and Technology, Dep. ETI / Embedded Systems, we are looking for a researcher as of the 01.08.2024 at the following conditions:
- 50% = 19,92 hours
- Pay grade 13 TV-L
- limited bis 31.07.2027
- The job advertisement is part of a European research project in the field of edge computing and embedded AI.**Your tasks**:
- Investigate real-time and fault tolerance techniques for decentralized edge AI hardware/software solutions.
- Identify requirements and specifications of a given AI model (e.g., object detection/classification) and supported AI hardware resources (e.g., CPU, GPU, etc.).
- Support the development of a scenario generator based on AI model characteristics and hardware configurations.
- Assist in the creation of an AI scheduling algorithm for virtualized/distributed AI hardware resources.
- Scientific qualification, usually doctoral project
**Your profile**:
- Completed a master's degree in computer science, mechatronics, or electrical engineering.
- Basic knowledge of embedded systems.
- Basic knowledge of standard communication protocols (e.g., TCP, UDP); preferably with TSNs.
- Strong knowledge of artificial intelligence, including machine learning and deep learning frameworks (e.g., Keras/TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).
- Proficient in programming (e.g., C/C++, Python) and software development.
- Self-motivated and interested in pursuing a PhD to complement your expertise.
- Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
