Procurement Officer

If successful in this position, you'll become an integral part of one of the fastest-growing teams within Synergy. This position will be responsible for development of resources and operating plans for all the procurement and purchases of assigned vessels.

**In this position you want**
- Liaise with technical superintendents and fleet manager to understand critical nature of materials request in a timely manner and ensure availability of resources
- Monitor purchase requests raised daily to have control over pending and challenges pertaining to supply of materials for various vessels. Maintain regular communication with Technical superintendents related to queries and status
- Communicate and coordinate with the vessels for specifications and alternatives as well as port details for supplying of materials whenever required
- Negotiate with existing vendors for cost competitiveness to increase savings for the organization
- Verify and process PO details and ensure invoices are processed within set time frame
- Coordinate with dispatch team regularly ensuring safe transportation of material to respective vessels

**What we need from you**
- Possess good knowledge of various parts and its crucial role in the safe operation of vessels
- Past experience as a Seafarer is desirable
- Experience working in Procurement/ Purchasing with a Ship Management company
- Strong negotiation skills, leading the negotiations and closing the contracts
- Analytical approach and excellent decision-making, attentive to detail, accurate, with previous experience in working with large data sets
- Driven, self-motivated, enthusiastic, with a "can-do" attitude
- Working comfortably in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills in English
