At EBD Group’s events, customers use and leverage our online software partneringONE® to identify business opportunities and to develop strategic relationships essential to their business’ success.
Due to the pandemic, we have further developed the partneringONE platform to function as a virtual event environment. We organize ten events per year across the globe with our largest in-person event having had over 4,000 delegates, and have an extended portfolio of other digital products.
**Informa Connect**
Informa Connect organizes major branded annual events and operates specialist digital communities that are key convening places for a particular market. We run around 800 events each year in over 60 countries, create digital platforms based on engaging news and information content, and operate professional development programs for individuals and businesses in Global Finance, Life Sciences, and Pharma and in a number of other specialist markets.
**Job Description**:
The Senior Director, European Market Strategy is part of the leadership team and will build and execute strategies that drive new business and revenue growth across the EBD and Finance and Accounting portfolios in the European market.
Project management responsibilities of EBD’s flagship events are a key focus area of the Senior Director. Oversee all aspects of the projects, including delivery on time and within budget and scope. The Senior Director will work directly with all functions to ensure all aspects and deliverables are met. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of project.
Through analysis and market research, the Senior Director will challenge existing strategies and is encouraged to take risks to build on and improve our existing products and services. Additionally, the Senior Director will work to identify new opportunities, create enhanced solutions and develop new products to better support new and existing clients in their respective jobs.
Supporting EBD’s strategic aspiration of growing and retaining our business as a market leader supporting the life science industry with their deal-making needs, this role is sitting at an intersection of the industry and the all-product functions (sales, marketing, production and operations).
Having an in-depth knowledge of EBD’s products, services and value proposition, the Senior Director will be driving continual development and innovation across the portfolio.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Lead European Events (60%)**
- Provide leadership to teams and maintain oversight in collaboration with other department heads of all aspects related to the European events.
- Project Management of the European events.
- Enhance organization reputation by adding value to existing portfolio and provide recommendations and implement on new ventures in the European market
- Cultivate a strong culture in the EU team in collaboration with the leadership team
- Act as the main liaison to the Regional Host for recruitment and fulfillment. Work together with the sponsorship team to put together presentations and pitch the value propositions for the events to prospective regional hosts.
**Stakeholder Engagement (15%)**
- Maintain strategic relationships with existing stakeholders and cultivate relationships with stakeholders and partnerships for new opportunities.
- Identify new industry trends, analyze market strategies, program requirements, growth potential, risk analysis, and financials; provide evaluations and recommendations on new ventures
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
**Reporting and Analytics (15%)**
- Responsible for the oversight of the P&L of European events. Provides management with weekly reports and analytics.
- Refines and creates process to support efficiencies and financial success of portfolio; collaborates cross-functionally with management and other related departments
- Participates in weekly team meetings and presents productivity and pipeline activity regularly to cross-functional, departmental and project teams.
- Utilize Informa systems for account management and revenue tracking.
**Event Support/Other (10%)**
- Attends industry conferences, trade shows, and other events, as the face of the EBD
- Attends trainings
- Provide support and perform special projects as needed
- Writing business proposals and defending them to internal stakeholders
**Qualifications**:
