The **Regional Distribution Director EMEA** for Leica Biosystems is responsible for driving operational performance across the logistics and distribution functions, with interfaces to the commercial sales organization, manufacturing sites, our global supply chain operations, and planning teams as well as Trade Compliance, Regulatory and Quality control functions. This role will also be responsible for developing and executing a European distribution strategy, which will drive optimal customer service, reduce operations costs and improve working capital turns.

This position is part of the **Global Supply Chain** leadership team located in Europe (ideally the role is located in the Frankfurt region close to our facility in Taunusstein or onsite in Newcastle, UK)_._

**You will be a part of the GSC Leadership Team and report to the Sr. Director Global Supply Chain responsible for**:

- Regulatory compliance within logistics and distribution operations.
- Developing business plans for future investments and necessary business changes.
- Responsible for developing and managing logistics and distribution annual budgets.
- Management of contracts, payment and monthly accrual processes.
- Implementing regional logistics platform improvements such as FAP, WMS and TMS.
- Trade operations responsibilities for import and export processing.

**In this role, you will have the opportunity to**:

- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, 3PL management, distribution and trade operations across the EMEA region.
- Manage P&L for freight and distribution costs.
- Establish a regional distribution strategy and ensure successful implementation and sustainment of process improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement in quality, service and cost year over year.

**The essential requirements of the job include**:

- Bachelor’s minimum, Master of Science, Master of Supply Chain and/or MBA preferred.
- 10 to 12 years European and global transportation, logistics and distribution management.
- Experience in large scale successful change management execution, distribution centre transfers.
- Experience in carrier and 3PL negotiation, contract and SLA management.
- Familiarity with cost management and accounting related to supply chain functions (FAP, Accrual processes, P&L reporting).
- Lean/Six Sigma
- Fluent in English

**It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in**:

- Knowledge of best practice distribution, logistics and trade compliance processes
- Project management, project implementation processes
