Our legal department plays a crucial role inensuring compliance and providing strategic legal advice to supportour business operations.

JobPurpose

To partner with theRegional/Country Board, providing strategic and pragmatic advicewith regard to risk, compliance and other general legal issues.Leading the legal function in conjunction with business growth andoptimisation helping to develop opportunities where theyarise.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage,advise and lead the Regional/Country Legalteam.
  2. Manage complex legal issues and deliverclear, pragmatic legal advice.
  3. Coordinate withthe US and EU Legal teams on global issues and in relation toCountry Law.
  4. Provide guidance and updates tothe relevant persons on key changes to local and EU laws andregulations.
  5. Manage external counsel on issuesthat are outsourced.
  6. Advise and assist theRegional/Country business in all litigation matters includingcommercial and employment disputes.
  7. Work withthe Compliance Team on policy and training issues affecting theRegional/Country business.
  8. Advise theRegional/Country business on intra-companytransactions.
  9. Provide legal support to thebusiness which may include a wide variety of transactional andnon-transactional work including vendor and customer agreements,contract management, disputes, litigations and compliance matters.As well as the services requiring a wide range of legal skillsincluding risk management, Intellectual Property, Competition andData Protection Law and all other areas of law relevant to aninternational IT and telecoms distributioncompany.

Knowledge Skillsand Experience

  1. Germanqualified Lawyer with adequate post-qualificationexperience.
  2. Experience of managing ateam.
  3. Experience of operating at Board/SeniorManagement level in a complexenvironment.
  4. Experience of handling complexlegal cases and providing expert legal advice on complexissues.
  5. Ability to make clear decisions andcreate clear and deliverable actions to meet businessneeds.
  6. Confident and positive in presenting,with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at alllevels.
  7. A team player with the ability tocollaborate effectively with different Legalteams.
  8. Proficiency in English andGerman.
