Business Unit Director

Our client is a global operating company, developing, manufacturing and selling of components for manufacturing.
Lead our client's business unit to achieve success withing the coporate organisation. Primary goals are:
- Profitable growth of the business unit, expanding the business internationally
- Successful supply of intercompany demand (components)
Responsibilities:
- P&L responsibility
- Create and maintain a strategy to drive the business unit to achieve its targets, aligned with the other business units aims and objectives.
- Expand the international business, for example through indirect sales channels or online channels.
- Monitor business performance, maintaining and achieving KPIs as required to drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and cost.
- Managing the team (Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Finance, Sales, Project Management): professional development, performance management, recruitment, and succession planning.
- Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations and company's policies.
- Represent the business unit in the market, building relationships with key partners and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Maintaining the collaborative environment for the team, with a global vision that is results-oriented through teamwork and mutual cooperation.
- Delegate, direct and adequately resource all necessary activities working collaboratively via the senior management team.
- Ensuring investment in people and development, supported by tools such as Performance Review, training, career path and an HR team. Ensure succession plans are maintained and manage HR risks.
Qualifications & Expertise
- Several years experience in leading teams: demonstrated experience in successfully managing highly qualified teams across multiple functions.
- Ideally P&L responsiblity
- Leading technical teams, manufacturing
- Demonstrated experience achieving sales growth
- Understanding of HR and legal/tax requirements relevant to a German business
- Fluent German
- High level of fluency in written and spoken business English
