Business Development Manager | Germany | CDMO


My client, a leading Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) at the forefront of providing innovative solutions to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences industries, is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager. They are a young and growing pharma service organisation offering fully-integrated services from cell line engineering over process development and drug quality control up to broad bioanalytical capabilities for preclinical and clinical studies.


As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by identifying and pursuing new opportunities, fostering relationships with potential clients, and expanding the client base in alignment with strategic goals.


Key Responsibilities:

Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities within target market segments.

Develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and achieve revenue targets.

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, including key decision-makers.

Lead the development and delivery of compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technical, operations, and finance.

Independently draft proposals and pricing calculations in consultation with respective departments.

Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and the competitive landscape to identify emerging opportunities.

Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote our services.

Provide regular updates and reports on business development activities and market insights.

Act as the account manager for signed projects.


Must have qualifications:

Master’s degree or PhD in life sciences (I.e., Biology, Biochemistry)

1-2 years' experience working within a CDMO organisation - Proven track record of success in business development within the CDMO industry.

Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Excellent communication skills in German and English.
