Our client is an innovative commercial and advanced development stage Biopharma, with a truly dedicated focus and team passion to improve outcomes and treatments for rare Neuroendocrine diseases.
As part of a Europe wide team expansion, in conjunction with a recent market authorisation to treat both adults and paediatric conditions within their rare disease portfolio and lead drug candidate, they now seek and experienced Rare Disease Medical Liaison to join the regional German based Medical Affairs group.
This is a new creation position, as part of ongoing company developments, operating on a full-time employed basis. The position could offer future scope within an evolving Biotech.
The regional Medical Science Liaison for Germany, South West region, will join as a member of the developing International Medical Affairs team, with focus on the implementation and development of local Medical Affairs plans for Germany - In conjunction with the wider European evolvement and expanded Market Authorisation.
Other essential functions and experienced required will include:
A pivotal role in establishing, developing and maintaining scientific relationships with key opinion leaders, physicians and healthcare professionals within the German region.
Serve as a scientific peer-to-peer partner with relative disease area experts and the wider medical community. Providing updated medical and product information. Building scientific understanding of the benefits of the associated rare genetic diseases.
Closely collaborate with Global Clinical Development, Operations and Commercial teams on interactions with investigators participating in the associated clinical trials, investigator meetings and advisory boards.
Provide scientific and clinical support and facilitating meetings and discussions regarding relative treatment options.
Provide medical and scientific review of scientific communication platforms, medical information resources, medical education materials & marketing materials to ensure local compliance within both Germany and the wide DACH region.
Provide both input and feedback on training initiatives directed at medical colleagues to expand product and scientific knowledge within the therapy area, and support the design of informative medical decks for external use.
Attend local / national or international conferences as required.
Further develop associated networks within the rare disease and associated development portfolio.
Who you are and associated skills required:
- MD (Medical Doctor) / PhD / PharmD / Pharmacy degree / Higher science degree
- German resident/citizen
- Fluent German and English language skills required.
- Direct Medical Affairs experience in local or national German (And/Or) DACH markets
- Proven experience of 3+ years directly working in Medical Affairs in industry at a regional level in Germany (And/Or) DACH region.
- Experience ideally in developing Biopharmaceuticals or growth organisations.
- Experience working on Rare Disease indications (1-2+ Years). Including Clinical development, pre-launch planning and commercialisation.
- Current or prior Medical Affairs (And/Or) Clinical development experience within Neuroendocrine diseases advantageous (Or) Endocrinology / Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology or Obesity.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate complex scientific information for various audiences.
- Self-motivated, independent, with a passion to succeed and a true team spirit player and contributor.
- Tenacity and ability to work effectively and autonomously in a smaller team and fast-paced environment.
This will be a regional remote based operative role, with extensive travel within the South Western German territory. Usually 3-4 days travel weekly, plus travel to wider Europe or the DACH region as and when required.
