Position Overview: As the Director of Sales, you will play a pivotal role in driving this company's growth strategy within the air and ocean freight forwarding sector. Leading a talented team of sales professionals, you will be responsible for developing and executing robust sales plans, fostering client relationships, and ensuring competitive pricing strategies to maximize profitability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Sales Strategies: Develop comprehensive plans aligned with company objectives to meet and exceed sales targets in the global air and ocean freight forwarding market.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and nurture relationships with new and existing clients to understand their needs, provide tailored solutions, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Cost Evaluation and Pricing: Analyse costs associated with freight forwarding services to determine competitive and profitable pricing strategies for their products and solutions.
  • Sales Strategy Implementation: Lead the implementation of sales initiatives, campaigns, and promotions to drive business growth and market share.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams such as operations, finance, and marketing to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and customer satisfaction.


Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven success in sales within the global air and ocean freight forwarding industry, with a track record of achieving and exceeding targets.
  • Leadership Skills: Previous 4 years of experience in a managerial or directorial role, demonstrating strong leadership, team-building, and motivational skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of air and ocean freight forwarding processes, regulations, pricing structures, and market trends.
  • Sales Strategy: Proficient in designing and implementing effective sales strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Client Focus: Exceptional client relationship management skills with the ability to build trust, rapport, and long-term partnerships.
  • Communication Skills: Fluent in both German and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to evaluate costs, pricing strategies, market data, and sales performance metrics.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field. MBA or relevant post-graduate qualifications preferred.
