Global Automotive Business Manager

The location of this role is flexible. Either in Europe or in the United States, close to automotive customers.

As the Global Business Manager, you will be responsible for driving the expansion of our market share in the automotive application segment in Europe and gaining share in the US markets. You will be developing and implementing strategic growth plans in collaboration with the Sales team, Manufacturing organization and Norit leadership.

This opportunity will be rewarding for a professional with a strong commercial and technical background, who has an existing network within the automotive segment. Your responsibilities:

  • Drive strategy for our market share expansion in Europe; develop and pursue an entrance strategy to the US market,
  • Accountable for the revenue/gross margin, product profitability and growth, growth projections, and resource utilization,
  • Pursue short- and long-term pricing strategies in collaboration with various functions to execute business plans effectively,
  • Respond promptly to market dynamics such as pricing fluctuations, competitor actions, and capability availability to maximize annual sales profitability and optimize growth,
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team, particularly those engaged in the Automotive Segment in their respective regions,
  • Coordinate with cross-functional areas including R&D and Manufacturing to prioritize activities, inventory, quality, and align production levels with strategic plan targets,
  • Ensure a robust project management approach to effectively oversee strategic programs, including competitive and market analysis and regional strategic planning,
  • Provide regular business projections estimates and monthly reports on program/project status against the business plan to Norit leadership,
  • Maintain alignment between negotiation direction/results and overall business strategy by keeping in contact with business units,
  • Manage and monitor the contract process, including price changes, reporting design, customer communications, and status evaluations,
  • Plan, prepare, and monitor segment budgets and expenditures to meet financial cost targets and established objectives through formal planning processes.


To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong technical background in the automotive gasoline industry, preferably in gasoline vapor emission control,
  • A proven track record of driving profitable commercial expansion and revenue growth would be a significant advantage,
  • Extensive experience in business development, strategic planning, technical support, commercial leadership or related roles working with the automotive industry,
  • Educational background in Engineering,
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret market trends and competitive dynamics,
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships,
  • Experience managing budgets and financial targets.
