IT Business Solutions Manager – Road Transportation and Contract Logistics

Our client is a leading European logistics services provider with a focus on warehousing and sustainable logistics with a client base of leading global brands across a diverse range of industries.


As part of the group's development a IT Business Solutions Manager is required to play a pivotal role in leveraging technology to enhance Road Transportation and Contract Logistics operations which drive business growth. If you are passionate about using IT to create value and optimize business processes, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact. As a key member of the IT team, you will be instrumental in providing comprehensive IT services while developing customized applications within an advanced IT environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Solution Design, Development & Implementation: Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and develop IT solutions tailored for road transportation and contract logistics. Ensure that solutions are user-friendly, efficient, and scalable.
  • Project Leadership: Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, including planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects related to transportation and logistics. Employ project management best practices to achieve project milestones within budget and timelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between IT and operational teams. Facilitate communication to ensure alignment of technology initiatives with business objectives and operational needs.
  • Technology Assessment: Evaluate and recommend new technologies and software solutions that can optimize road transportation and contract logistics processes. Stay informed about industry trends and advancements.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze current workflows and identify areas for improvement. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure seamless integration and delivery of technology solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Training & Change Management: Develop training materials and conduct sessions to promote the adoption of new systems and technologies. Support teams in navigating changes effectively.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of IT solutions. Provide insights and recommendations based on performance data.


Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) is advantageous.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in IT management or business solutions, specifically within road transportation and contract logistics environments.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of logistics software, transportation management systems (TMS), and technologies relevant to supply chain management.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business challenges and develop innovative IT solutions to address them.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership and team management abilities, with experience in driving successful project outcomes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions in a dynamic environment.
